When to apply?

→Application for visa extension shall be made within 15 days before the expiration of the stay.

How do I know when my visa will expire?

→Please check the “Duration of Stay” on your visa.

Your visa expiration date is calculated as the day after your arrival plus the duration of your stay specified.

For instance, if Ms. Lee arrived in Taiwan on May 1st, 2024, and her visa specifies a duration of stay of 90 days, her visa would expire on July 30th, 2024. Accordingly, she would need to visit the immigration service station to extend her visa no later than 15 days before July 30th, 2024.

What documents should be prepared?

1. An application form (It’s available at the Immigration service station; The upper left corner of the application form should be attached with a headshot taken within 6 months.)
2. One original passport and one photocopy
3. Photocopy of your visa for entry
4. Related documents: These should be provided by the college where you are doing your internship/research.
